Sonoma Wings Meeting Minutes

Thursday, March 28, 2002

The meeting began at 7:34 p.m.  It was a light turnout.  The members in attendance were Kurt Bainum, Ernie Camacho, Scot Huber, Justin Miller, Charley Warren, Bob Storms, Anthony  Abate, Keith White, Albert Branson, Bob Kanick, Gregg Hackett, Ian Riedel and Greg Sugg.

There were two visitors, Steve Dick and his son Paul.  Paul, who is about 12 years old, is very interested in hang gliding.  He searched around on the internet and found the Sonoma Wings web site where he got the meeting information and persuaded his dad to bring him.  I’m sure we’ll see more of him in a few years.

Because of the small turnout there was not much business discussed.

First Aid and CPR

Albert announced that he has an opportunity to take a First Aid and CPR class in conjunction with his employer.  The class is a several day affair with some expense involved.  He would like the club to foot the bill, and in turn he will conduct a first aid and CPR class for the club members.  We need to refresh our first aid knowledge on a regular basis, especially since we are flying in remote locations quite often.

Welding and Machine Shop

Ian Riedel said that he has a welding and machine shop and is available to construct vehicle hang glider racks and perform other welding and machining needs of the club members.  His shop phone is (707) 823-0263.

Sonoma Wings Club Jackets

Justin Miller displayed some very nice fleece lined jackets with the Sonoma Wings name and emblem embroidered across the back, and the emblem on the chest pocket.  The jackets are of high quality, and the embroidery work is excellent.  They can be had for $100.00.  Also, members can choose the colors of embroidery work to suit themselves.  Justin, Scot, and Albert all had these jackets on, and they looked very sharp.

That was about it for the meeting.
