Sonoma Wings Meeting Minutes
Thursday, July 25, 2002
The meeting was called to order by Secretary Greg Sugg at 8:03 p.m. Those members in attendance were: Ernie Camacho, Scot Huber, Todd Robinson, Matt Jagelka, John DeAguiar, Kurt Bainum, Gregg Hackett, Jon James, Albert Branson, and Greg Sugg. Also at the meeting were Ernie’s son, and Sonoma Wings’ award winning part time driver, Ernie (too), John DeAugiar’s children who’s names I failed to get, and Albert’s parents, Alice and Carl.
St. John Fly-In
John DeAugiar asked if we will be having a St. John fly-in this year. After some discussion it was decided to have a low key fly-in two weeks after Labor Day on September 14 and 15.
PayPal
Treasurer, Matt Jagelka, said that we are not able to accept credit cards over the web site through PayPal on line collection service, so we should dump the service. Ernie agreed and said he could take care of changing the wording on the web site. The club voted to dump PayPal.
Matt also said that he has maps showing the three routs at the up coming Sierra Nevada Cross Country meet to look at.
Paraglider Fly-Ins
Gregg Hackett said that there will be two paraglider fly-ins on August 14th. One will be at Potato Hill, put on by BAPA. The other will be at Pine Mountain. Check the BAPA web site for details.
Hull Safety Incident
Matt said recently he met a pilot at the Timberline launch who had been out of flying for some time. The pilot (Everett?) was nervous about flying. The pilot came to launch and was ready to launch when Matt noticed that he was not hooked into the glider. He would have launched unhooked. Matt reminded us to always check other pilots on launch to see that they are hooked in, have leg loops attached, and have a properly assembled glider. Look at sprogs, luff lines, zippers, etc.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:59 p.m.
