Greg called and asked if I would take notes since he couldn't be there. The meeting was attended by Donna Matthias, Kerri Lemus. Charley Warren, Gregg Hackett, Larry Roberts Jon and Nancy James and Leo Jones.
Meeting was called to order by the VP at 19:40.
Jon reported that he went to a State Parks meeting on the Coastal usage plan. They were favorable toward continued use by hang gliders.
Red Hill is being used by paraglider pilots. It is probably OK for HGs to use it too.
We talked about doing something to improve relations with the land owners in the St John area. We agreed that an annual donation to the VFD would be a good idea. Jon reports that we also have work to do on our permitted sites.
We talked about the club position on motorized harnesses. We decided that as a club our hands are somewhat tied regarding restricting them from most of our sites. That should fall to the site owners and regulators.
We talked about moving the date of the November meeting since the normal date falls on Thganksgiving. Looks like it will be on Friday the 21st at Matt's house. (Matt's and Chris Gallager's Birthday)
The October meeting will be the 23rd at Round Table, as usual. It will be the nomination of officers meeting so we need a good turnout. We also need a good turnout at the November meeting when we elect the officers.
