Well ,in Ernie's absence we had a pretty short meeting. Here are the minutes.
Charley
Sonoma Wings meeting notes from 4-22-2004
Attending the meeting were Donna Matthias, Gregg (3G) Hackett, Kerri Lemos and Aaron Zolnowsky, Charley Warren, Matt and Lori Jagelka, Bill Wood, Greg Sugg, Anthony Abate, Jon James, John Lord, Kurt Bainum, and Leo Jones.
Vice President, Donna called the meeting to order at 19:53.
First we talked about the Cinco de Mayo fly-in. We are getting the meat From Haggemen's. Leo has been working on a shirt design. Donna and 3G will help Leo get the design onto shirts.
We need to be sure we don't park beyond the posts at launch. We will be using the old launch. We want to remind ourselves that we are the last recreational group allowed to drive up the mountain. There used to be others but they have all lost permission. Please be careful with the site.
Pilots should arrive no later than 9:30. There will be a pilots meeting at 10:00. NO LATER At the meeting it will be determined who the 20 pilots will be. There will be a drawing for launch order. We will drive up the mountain in one group leaving the LZ at 10:30.
There will be prizes for duration, flour bomb drop and spot landing.
Next we were reminded to get our early registration in for the King Mt Meet in order to get the ultra-cool window sticker.
Matt informed us that there will be no Sierra Nevada XC Open this year leaving a large gap in the California scene. Matt proposed that Sonoma Wings host a comp in the Owens Valley. It could start out very minimal until the level of interest is discovered. No action was taken on the issue but the idea was well received. We agreed to continue discussion on the idea.
We were asked to go to the link on our website and write letters to support the Marshall/Crestline effort.
The next meeting will be 5-27-2004
The meeting was adjourned at 20:58.
We had the raffle after the meeting. Bill Wood won a Sonoma Wings shirt, Donna a No LZ shirt. Jon James won a bottle of Justin's wine and a St John shirt. Aaron won a travel-mug as did Bill Wood. Gregg Hackett won a hover disc and Charley Warren won a Sonoma Wings cap. YEA!
