Here are the minutes of the last meeting. Enjoy!

Sonoma Wings Meeting notes from 5-27-2004

While people were gathering before the meeting we watched a DVD of Florida flying supplied by Ernie. Ernie has access to a nice projector that hooks up to a computer. We projected it on to white paper taped to the outside window at Round Table Pizza. The video makes it look like a fun place to go. Ernie reported the weather was crappy leading up to the meet, good flying during the meet, then crappy again after the meet.

Attending the meeting were Ernie Camacho, Donna Matthias, Mechal Krumbholtz, Marek Lechlwski, Kurt Bainum and Anna and Spencer, Gregg Hackett, Larry Roberts, Chris McKeon, Matt and Lori Jagelka, Andy Miller, Leo Jones, Ian Ridel and me Charley Warren.

The meeting was called to order at 7:36 pm.

Ernie reported on his Florida trip. Then we went around the room and introduced ourselves to a new pilot. He was Marek Lechlwski. He is a P2 living in Middletown.

People discussed Memorial Day plans. Pilots were going to Dunlap, Owens Valley, St John Mt and Woodrat. We also talked about some people going to the Regionals before King. The King Mt meet is less than a month away.

We got a Cinco de Mayo Fly-in report. 19 pilots flew. This was the fifth year. Gregg Hackett won the spot landing contest, Jon James was second and Charlie Nelson third. Charlie Nelson won the duration contest, John DeAguiar was second and Kent Moriarity was third. The streamer drop was won by Matt Jagelka, Charlie Nelson was second and third was Jon James. The streamer drop went over well, replacing flour bombs.

The BBQ went over well. People liked the tri-tip and all the fixins. Local landowner and neighbor participation also went well.

Of course the flying went well with Chris Arai setting a new site record. He flew 60.5 miles to the east south east.

We set dates for the St John Mt fly-in. It will be 8-21&22. If that date conflicts with major comps it will be 8-14&15. We will have a BBQ at Mary Quiberg's. Tri-tip and chicken will be on the menu. Ian and Donna volunteered to beg for prizes.

Matt gave us a Treasurers report. We are solvent. We came out a little short on the Cinco de Mayo fly-in, due to the cost of the T-shirts. There are a lot of unsold T-shirts. Contact Donna to get yours.

Finally we got to the raffle. We had some good prizes and raised about $97 for the club. Gregg Hackett won a flight lesson at Sonoma County Airport and a headlamp.

Chris McKeon won a bottle of wine and windsock. Fred Clement won a T-shirt.

The next meeting will be held at the King Mt meet. We should do it like last year, have it before flying after the pilots meeting. Most likely it would be on Friday the 25th.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:26 pm.

Charley Warren
