Sonoma Wings Meeting notes from 11-19-2004

Attending the meeting were Matt and Lori Jagelka, who hosted the meeting, as well as Charley Warren, Bill Dungan, Donna Matthias, Gregg Hackett and friend Darlene, Ernie Camacho, Maya Camacho, Jon James, Andy Miller, Scot Huber, Greg Sugg, Tim Barnes, Justin Miller and Karin and Leo Jones.

Since the meeting wasn't at a pizza parlor Charley brought two large pizzas to Matt's. Matt had more pizzas delivered. Donna brought a big salad and there were other things there that escape my memory. Guess I'll have to start writing more stuff down. Anyway we ate and played some pool while waiting for people to arrive.

Long about 19:43 Ernie started prodding folks to the living room to get down to business. At 19:45 the meeting was called to order.

The first item on the agenda was the election of officers.

We jumped right into it and re-elected Ernie, Sonoma Wings President for 2005. The election didn't go off without a hitch, however. We had to recount twice. Ernie said, "Thank you very much", for his acceptance speech. Donna Matthias was re-elected Vice President. In her acceptance speech she said that she "will take over in Ernie's absence.

Charley Warren was re-elected Secretary. He said he "wisht 3G woulda won".

Treasurer, Matt Jagelka was re-elected and said he had "no wise words" for us.

Site Director, Greg Sugg was also re-elected. He said he "was thrilled to be re-elected" and that he needed more time anyway to complete the things he didn't get done in 2004.

Jon James was a last minute nominee for Safety Officer and he won the post! In Jon's acceptance speech he said, "we will have safety, next year".

So, thanks to all the officers for the job they did last year and good luck to them for next year.

Gregg Hackett brought a proposal and a plan for a work party on Potato Hill. Greg Sugg will work with him on this to make it happen.

We met Tim Barnes who is a P3, new to the area. He is living in Sebastopol and has been flying Goat Rock. He is interested in opening Red Hill on the coast as a PG site.

We discussed the Christmas party and decided to make it masquerade party. People are encouraged to come in costume with an aviation theme. Several members are committed to dressing up so join in the fun. Leo took a minute in the meeting to accuse us all of being stodgy and no fun. He should talk! So let's be fun and come to the Christmas party in aviation costume.

We talked about doing Stonyford area visits soon and visiting Jane Campbell.

People are asked to start thinking about next years events before the next meeting so we can discuss them there. The first event for next year will be 1-1-05 at Plaskett Creek. Some members are going.

Andy Miller recently had his first mountain flights. Congrats Andy!

The next meeting will be December 10th at Kurt's house. It will be the Christmas party. Please come in aviation theme costume.

The meeting was adjourned at 20:37 at which time more beer drinking and pool playing and other sorts of tomfoolery broke out.

Hangfly the re-elected Sonoma Wings Secretary, thankyouverymuch
