New Years at Big Sur.
The ranger station is the bare spot to the left of the highway. The LZ is across the road from it. The Sanddollar LZ is on the next mesa down the coast, where Hwy 1 disappears behind the clump of trees.

Williamson is the peak to the left of the left pilot; Kearsarge Peak is to the left of the right pilot; Onion Valley is between the two peaks, with Onion Valley Rd. climbing up to it from Independence.

Owens Valley club trip in July:
Mike Kunitani hitting the turbulent zone after launching from Black Eagle. Mike went on to fly over 100 miles to Mina, Nevada.
You can see the Alabama hills in the distance below Mike's body. Manzanar (where Mike's parents met) is at the right edge of the photo.

A dust devil in the valley near Independence. We saw several working their way up the valley along highway 395. Manzanar and the north end of the Alabama hills is up ahead.

Annual Sonoma Wings St. John fly-in:
Todd blows off big miles at St. John to help "rescue" Ernie's truck. Charley's glider peeks out from under the front of the truck... :( (Actually, they radioed Todd and informed him that the "err...chase was off".)
