Threating clouds and rain looked like they would put a big damper on this years Regionals, but we managed to fly all three days and have some fun.

The good news was that the high winds typical of the past few years were not around and conditions were optimal for Slide, excepting the low cloud base that took some time to clear the launch elevation. Thermal activity was very light, with Sunday being the best day.

Leo Jones and John Blacet provided wind dummy info, helping encourage (or discourage) pilots to run down Slide's "over the guard rail and down the cliff" launch. Ray had the typical early and tight launch window to discourage potatoing. Needless to say, everyone got off at the last possible minute.

Friday, the goal was 10 miles to the North side of Carson City. A lot of folks made this one. Saturday and Sunday, it was a 20 miler South of town to Rays training bump. This proved difficult Saturday and a bit easier on Sunday.

The only mishaps were a split lip and a blown Millenium launch that was spectacular but left the pilot intact.

It was great to see so many topless and rigid wings, but the king posted folks showed their skills too.

Thanks goes to Ray and group for once again providing a safe, fun meet. Thank Ernie, Todd and Emily for the stupendous photos!
